Videotape love

I finally figured out why we have been saving all of our old vhs tapes, babies LOVE them. Madison is obsessed with pulling all of the tapes off of the shelf and then taking them out of their cases. Well me being the ingenius mom that I am decided I would put her toy basket in front of the shelves so she couldn't get to them. I looked over a couple of minutes later to see this.

Maybe she just really wanted to watch Titanic?

Fireman Jason

We visited a fire station yesterday and Jason got to sit in the drivers seat, he was so excited, I think he really thought he was going to get to drive it!

Happy Birthday Kaydence!

On Saturday Kaydence had her first birthday party. Can you tell September is a busy birthday month for us? Kaydence is exactly 3 months older than Madison, I think it will be so great that they will grow up with a cousin so close in age. Kaydence was so adorable with the little baby doll she got and immediately starting loving on it, look how cute!

9 months old

Madison is 9 months old today, she is growing up so fast. She is starting to pull up on a few things and is getting tooth number 3 and 4, both on the top. She loves to throw herself backwards so you can tickle her tummy. She is such a sweet, easy going baby. Here are a few recent pics of our beautiful Maddie Girl.

I'm getting OLD!

Yesterday was my 29th birthday, and it was the first birthday I didn't look forward to. Something about 29 (maybe it is just too close to 30) just sounds really old to me. I also think 29 is the cliche age that everyone always says they are and no one will believe me that I really am 29. I had a great day despite the whole getting older part. My parents took me out to lunch and then Joyce watched the kids while Shane and I went out to dinner. My gift from Shane was new dishes which in itself makes me old that I wanted housewares for my birthday. They really are pretty though and I love them! Here is a pic of my brand new dishes.

Jason's First Fish

We went to Possum Kingdom Lake on Saturday and Jason caught his very first fish! Well he actually jerked up on the fishing pole and snagged the poor fish in the eye which was very disturbing to me (poor fish). But he was so excited and reeled the fish in all by himself. He also got to ride an ATV for the first time and had so much fun playing at the lake.

Jason did not want to touch the fish at all!

A Friend in Need

As some of you know my friend Ashli's husband has been diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and is in need of a stem cell transplant. He is chronicling his journey here. They have two kids age 3 and 2 so this is obviously devastating to them. They have not found a perfect match yet which will be his best case of beating this. A stem cell transplant is a process where the donor's stem cells are collected much like dialysis. You can sign up to be donor here www.marrow.org use the promo code NASC262101 and it will cost you nothing. They will send you a kit, you swab your cheek and send it back. You have to sign up by Sept. 22 to use the promo code for free so hurry do it today! You might not be a match for Ben but you could help save a life!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

On Saturday we went to Tyler's 10th birthday party. I can't believe he is already 10, he was a tiny baby when Shane and I first met and now he's a pre teen! He had his party at Strikz bowling alley and all of the kids had a great time bowling and playing games. Madison had her first taste of cake and just for the record it was not my idea (it was all MeMe and Daddy's doing).

Pearly Whites

Here is a picture of Madison showing off her two brand new teeth at bath time tonight. Her brother had just poured water over her head, but she didn't seem to mind, she was smiling at her Daddy!

More Flags, More Fun

For Labor Day we went to Six Flags with family that was in town. We have season passes so we go pretty often. Jason loves Six Flags, or as he calls it "Fix Fags". The Log Flume and Yosemite Sam are his favorite rides, he likes to ride them over and over again! We had a good time despite the big crowds and hot weather. We are looking forward to FrightFest in October, the weather will be cooler and the whole park will be spookified. The picture from left to right is Cousin Brian, Amy's boyfriend Brett, cousin Amy, Uncle Mike, Aunt Nancy, Madison, Jason, Shane, Dad, and Mom.
