Senor Jason

Jason had his very last preschool show at Spanish Schoolhouse last month. He is in the middle with a red bandanna.

A Fish Named Madi

Here is a video of Madison at swim lessons. This was Madison's second year to take survival swimming lessons so she just did a 2 week refresher course. They teach the kids how to swim * float * swim. I have been completely amazed at how well she has caught on to it. She is almost too confident in her swimming abilities and often swims away from me. She has NO fear in the water which is both a good and bad thing. I'm very proud of my little Madison!

Happy 5th birthday Jason!

It's hard to believe my sweet little baby boy is 5, how is that even possible?! We held the party at the firestation near our house and he had lots of little friends to celebrate with. The firefighters were great with the kids and we dined on pizza and cake. I made my very first fancy cake, a fire truck. Luckily my friend Ashli helped me with it, and I was pretty proud of it for a first try! Happy 5th birthday Jason, thanks for the best 5 years of my life!

Louisiana

We took a trip to Louisiana a couple of weeks ago to attend my cousin Matt's wedding. It was an 8 hour car trip and the kids were PERFECT! Seriously I kept wondering who these kids were that were sitting so nice and quiet for 8 hours straight. I'm so glad we can go on road trips now and not have to worry about the kids melting down! the first night we were there Shane and I went to New Orleans for the night and had a great time in the French Quarter. We had hurricanes, crawfish ettouffe and beignets, you know, the best things in life...... YUM!!! The next day was Matt's wedding and it was wonderful to get to see so much of our family. I only wish we could have seen everyone for longer, it was only a four day trip.

View out our hotel window in New Orleans, that is the Mississippi river in the backgroundCatching lizards at Great Maw-Maws house, we used to do this as kids at her house too!!

Pics from Disney

We took a last minute trip to Florida last week (thanks mom and dad!) We booked the trip 2 weeks before we left so I only had 14 days of Jason asking me every morning when he woke up if we were going to Disney World today! Madison got to meet the princesses for the first time including her favorite, The Little Mermaid! Jason got to meet Peter Pan and told him how he had two play swords....so cute! The Star Wars ride is still one of Jason's favorites and everytime we ride it, we try and guess if the Star Wars guy is going to go the wrong way (he always does!) The kids were so good on the plane ride this time, my kids might actually be turning into good little travelers finally.... Hooray!!

A Blizzard: Texas style!!!

On Thursday we got a foot of snow, yes an actual foot of snow..... in Texas. It snowed for 24 hours straight! This was our 4th snowstorm this winter which is pretty much unheard of here. Of course in true Dallas style the entire city shut down, which meant no school for Jason. So we bundled up and headed across the street to meet friends at our neighborhood park, which has a hill. We attempted sledding in a laundry basket which was pretty unsuccessful. It turns out I do NOT have snowbabies. They cried almost the entire time about being cold. Unfortunately, we don't have all the snow gear that would have made them less cold. Cotton gloves just aren't good for snowball fights! Never the less it was beautiful and definilty a once in a lifetime experience to see so much snow in our backyard! They said the last time it snowed even close to that much here was 1978, I wasn't even born!

Jason about to pelt me with a snowball!

The view out my front porch, beautiful isn't it!?

Like Brother, Like Sister....

Madison got her first computer just like Jason did at 2. I'm completely amazed at how quickly they learn how to move and click the mouse! Of course, even though they both have their own computer, they still fight over each others..... go figure! Excuse Madi's crazy hair, they had just woke up!

Christmas Eve 2009

Christmas eve was very eventful this year because it SNOWED. It was the first White Christmas I've ever had! Because of the weather we had Shane's family come over earlier for our annual Christmas Eve get together. The kids played in the snow, opened presents and decorated cookies for Santa. Despite moving the get together earlier it still took Kiley and her family 3 hours to make the normally 20 minute drive home!

Kaydence and Madi playing

Jason opening his Zhu Zhu pet, he looks kind of stunned huh? His MeMe waited in line in the cold for hours to get those for Jason and Kinsey!
